33 boys who from The Mall School will be the first cohort to leave at the end of Year 6, having received offers from 22 schools, with three-quarters of the boys receiving offers from two or more schools.

13 boys, or 40 per cent of the group, have been offered 11+ places at Hampton, King’s College Wimbledon, St Paul’s Juniors or Westminster Under School. 30 per cent received offers from a selective state grammar school, including 7 boys who have places at Tiffin.

The Mall School headmaster, David Price, said: “We are extremely proud of all the boys in Year 6.

“The range of schools that they have been offered places to, in a year when there has been an increased demand for secondary places, is particularly pleasing and I know they are now looking forward to taking on the challenges and opportunities on offer at their senior schools.

“I would like to thank all the staff who have taught and encouraged them during their time at The Mall, and the last two years in particular.

“I would also like to thank Year 6 parents for their support. These results fully endorse the decision we made in 2017 to phase out Years 7 and 8 so that boys should leave the school at the end of Year 6 with the 2019 cohort being the first to do so.”

Seven academic awards in total were received from King’s College Wimbledon, Hampton, St George’s, Radnor House and St James.

Four non-academic awards were received from: Hampton (music and sport), Reed’s (sport) and St Paul’s (music).

To prepare the boys for 11+ entrance examinations, the school has made some minor adjustments to the curriculum for boys from the start of Year 4 including a slightly increased focus on English and Maths as well as reasoning.
