Prudential RideLondon 2019 events will take place in central London on Saturday 3 August 2019 and in London and Surrey on Sunday 4 August 2019. Some local road closures are planned on Sunday 4 August. The event on Saturday affects Central London only.

Be prepared

Due to the closure of Hammersmith Bridge, this year’s RideLondon event on Sunday 4 August will have more impact on the local area than in previous years. Please ensure you are well aware of the road closures and plan your day accordingly. There will be significant delays to all road journeys. To get around more quickly, use Tube or rail, or consider walking or cycling.

Saturday 3 August 2019 Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle – a brilliant opportunity to get the whole family together to experience the fun and freedom of cycling on traffic-free roads in central London.
Sunday 4 August 2019

Prudential RideLondon – Surrey 100 – 25,000 amateur cyclists will take on a 100-mile cycle challenge through the closed roads of London and Surrey before finishing on The Mall.

Prudential RideLondon – Surrey 46 – 5000 amateur cyclists will take on a 46-mile cycle challenge through the closed roads of London and Surrey before finishing on The Mall.

Surrey 19 – a 19 mile ride starting at Sandown Park and finishing on The Mall, specifically for families and young people with children aged 12 to 16 years old. Children are able to take part if accompanied by an adult and have completed Level 2 Bikeability training programme, or if they are a member of a British Cycling club.

Prudential RideLondon – Surrey Classic – 150 pro cyclists will compete in this world class one-day race. This year, the race starts in Bushy Park and finishes on The Mall.

Road closures

The routes for the Prudential RideLondon – Surrey 19, 46 & 100 and the Classic on Sunday 4 August must be secured and made clear of all vehicles to help ensure the safety of participants, spectators and local residents. Roads will be closed from the early hours of the morning on Sunday 4 August. Roads will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so that day.

The key roads that will be closed are Richmond Park which will be closed to traffic all day and there will be no access from Bushy Park onto Hampton Court Road. Parts of the A316 and Upper Richmond Road will also be closed.

Please remember that Hammersmith Bridge is also closed.

You won’t be able to drive on the roads used for the event, so you may need to plan your journey carefully or consider using public transport. Pedestrian crossing points along the routes will be stewarded throughout the day to enable access across the routes.

Sports centres

Sports centres will be open as usual. RideLondon will pass close to Shene Sports and Fitness centre with parts of the surrounding road closed. Please check your journey before travelling.
